The coming of the American President, Barack Obama was more of a homecoming; it was the rebirth of a nation. Every Kenyan had something to look forward to. There was no Kamau, Otieno or Wambua. There was only one word on our lips and that word was Obama. I was index number 2 in high school and I believed that I had what it takes to get an A. There was high expectation from teachers, friends and guardians to the point that when the results were released, they bought newspapers only to find my name missing. The kind of gospel music being played in Kenya today really worries me. Yesterday I had to listen to several songs to confirm that some of the gospel artistes do a remix of secular artistes. I do not think that this is brought about by lack of creativity but love of money. I usually look at Kari Jobe’s, Chris Tomlin’s, Newsboys, Lecrae’s and many other gospel artists’ concerts and one thing that stands out is that none of them takes away the glory that belongs to God. Every patriotic American today celebrates the power of choice. They had an election and made a choice that Barack Obama should be their president for the next four years but one thing that most Americans do not know yet is that they made a sober choice.
