LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Well well, I finally did it; through the help of God I finally was able to complete the video to my very first single, LOVE. The reason why I sang that song is that I was tired of people claiming to sing “gospel” in this land yet every day I have to fight an element of tribalism, greed, class or prejudice in the country. Mercy Opande, a gospel minister who wants to go deep/PHOTO/MERCY OPANDE Yes there is joy in the Lord but for that joy to be full, Kikuyus must love Luos unconditionally. Kalenjins should love Luhyas. People should start singing about the truth. Truth is even some of our churches are tribalistic, oh yes, the elders or the pastors are of a particular tribe or even class. This does not apply in rural areas. Am I  lying when I say there are churches when you have a car, a good job and money you easily become a pastor or elder? Jesus commanded us to love. He loved so much that He died. To me it is a shame when a secular band can sing about abortion wh...

Willy Paul verses Bahati; who is clean?

I know that Bahati accused Willy Paul of stealing his song but I will say it as it is, Willy Paul is more vocally talented than Bahati and this time around he actually sang a song that has the word. Willy Paul, Kenya Gospel artist who has been accused of stealing songs/PHOTO/Nairobiwire.com   Truth is there is no difference between the 2 singers, they both have commercialized the gospel so when one accuses the other, its the pot calling the kettle black but I still believe that better the devil we know in Willy Paul than the " angel" in " mamaz boy. Let us be fair and not judge, these are 2 young men who need to be moulded by real spiritual fathers like Arthur Gitonga, JB Masinde...... not Music spinning Dj's. I say so because I believe that if Jesus came around when we were all saying how bad Willy is, He would write on the ground and say he without sin, cast the first stone. None of us know Bahati and Willy on a personal level, we  only know them as  f...

We Hunger for True Gospel Music

The kind of gospel music being played in Kenya today really worries me. Yesterday I had to listen to several songs to confirm that some of the gospel artistes do a remix of secular artistes. I do not think that this is brought about by lack of creativity but love of money. I usually look at Kari Jobe’s, Chris Tomlin’s, Newsboys, Lecrae’s and many other gospel artists’ concerts and one thing that stands out is that none of them takes away the glory that belongs to God. The hunger for God is real but be weary of the junk being served as gospel music/PHOTO/Courtesy Look at Kenya, we start well but before we know it, we want the good life and so instead of singing songs inspired by the Holy Spirit, we sing songs inspired by hunger, pride, greed, fame, the world’s way of thinking. At the end of the day its not Jesus who is Glorified but dancing styles, who shot your video and who produced the audio. Am not saying am any better because I love RnB and HipHop and Rock but when i...

ABORT ME NOT

There are some rumours on the internet about a well-known gospel artist. The rumours claim that she has done an abortion after carrying a child in her for 7 months. Before going, oooooooooo, you better sit down and pause. Why did she do it, I mean why do women go about and ‘’flush’’ an innocent being? Well it is the looks, the stares and the gossips we have. The society looks down on any girl who gets pregnant out of wedlock and because the bar of morality is so high in those who are ‘’ perfect’’ poor girl regrets her night of illegal passion and instead of thinking of the life in her, she starts wondering how life will be around her so she gets rid of the foetus.                      Aborted lives/Photo courtesy of www.catholic-convert.com/ It takes two to tango and somebody recently looked at me with great amazement in his eyes. What did I say? I said that if it were not for condoms, most men have also committed abortion....
