1.
Be a lifeguard
You
are a great swimmer and you just can’t get enough of water. Now why not put
your mermaid skills into some good use and earn money while at it? You can
become a lifeguard and help save people’s lives by ensuring that they are safe
while they take a dip in the pool. For the naughty ones well this is the kind
of job that allows you to kill two birds with one stone in that you can check
out your crush and earn. You are paid hourly and you can earn as little as $10
per hour. So get yourself out there and put your hours into good use.
Being a life guard is not an
easy feat and therefore just don’t take it up for the sake of having a good
tan. Take it only if you are qualified. You should also have good first aid
skills. You must also be physically strong because you will be dealing with
people of different weights. Be the kind of person who is always alert so that
when you notice that something is amiss, you can take the appropriate action as
soon as possible. As a life guard you can also teach kids how to swim and get
paid too. For swimming lessons you can get paid at least $20 per hour. If you
are good and the parents like you then you can have private training sessions
which pay even better.
You might be wondering how easy
or hard it is to get a job as a life guard and the answer is that it is not
that hard so long as you provide proof that you are trained in life guard
skills plus most life guards are students who are always on the move so someone
new is always needed to take over.
1.
Babysit
Well if you do not go well with
water activities then you can try something else like babysitting. This is good
for those who simply have a way with kids. Are you always cleaning up after
your younger siblings or are you the one always playing with them? Now you can
try the same with other people’s kids.
Everyone is busy nowadays and
there is the issue of finding a good babysitter to take care of the kids while
the parents are away. That is where you come in. Get a list of all the parents
in your neighborhood with kids. You can let your neighbors know that you offer
full time babysitting services and that you charge certain rates per hour. With
babysitting you do not just take care of kids, you need life skills and you
will learn a lot about responsibilities plus now you will get to understand why
your parents were crazy about you at that age. Kids are special and you also
need to appreciate that if you are to work with them.
2.
Walk dogs
You don’t like water and you
simply cannot stand kids and the noise that comes with them. Do not give up yet
because there is something else that you can do. Do you like fuzzy things that
walk on their fours? Well if you do then dogs are your thing. You can become a dog walker and walk people’s
dogs for them. You can also be a pet sitter as well. During summer many
families go on vacation and if the pet cannot join them then they need a place
for the pet to stay till its owners are back. All you have to do is walk, feed
and play with the animal. You can earn up to $50 per day just by being good to
an animal.
As the owner of a dog walking
business you can charge between ten to twenty dollars or simply find a
reasonable rate that you can charge per hour. Do not work hard but work smart
so if you are strong enough then you can walk several dogs at the same. If you
do not have the upper body strength for that then you can as well start with
puppies as you work your way up.
If you do not like your animals
dirty then you can wash people’s pets at a certain fee. So you can actually
start a three in one business where you take care of pets when their owners are
away, walk and groom them. You will definitely make a killing.
3.
Gardening/landscaping
Do you always help your dad
when it comes to mowing the lawn? Then why not extend the same help to your
neighbors. You can even go ahead and do some pruning or trim hedges, rake dry
leaves, plant trees or pull weeds. During winter you can be the one to salt
driveways or even shovel the snow.
Simply make a list of the
things you can do and start knocking on your neighbors door’s or just do a damn
good job with your lawn and let your work speak for itself.
4.
Waiting tables
There is no job too low, if it
gets you the money then go for it but just ensure that it is not illegal. You
can find something in the service industry for instance waiting tables. This is
for someone who is a good listener and is quick on their feet. You should also
have a good smile. I know the job does not pay much but do your best and let
everything else work itself plus there are good tips from customers who notice
a good waiter. During the weekends you can actually go home with $100 or $200
in your pocket.
5.
Home improvement
Home improvement is much like
landscaping but at this point there will be repairs and putting up things like
fences. If your neighbor needs their front porch painted then why not offer to
do the job instead of them getting a handy man to do so because the truth is
that if you can do a good job then you can become the neighborhood handy man
from then on.
6.
Do deliveries
Everyone is busy so why not
make work easier for them by doing their shopping, buying their flowers or even
paying their bills? First of all you have to be a person that people can trust
and secondly deliver whatever it is that is expected of you without being late.
7.
Garage sale
If you have stuff that you no
longer use then you can put them up for sale and make money. Kindly get your
parents’ permission to indulge in such because you do not want to sell what
your dad had intended to use later with your younger siblings.
8.
Bake
If you are good when it comes
to baking then do not just stop in your folks’ kitchen. You can start baking
cookies, cakes or pies for your neighbors at a friendly price.
9.
Wash cars
Well that actually speaks for
itself. Start washing cars for your neighbors at a pocket friendly charge.
