I have just watched a certain channel in my country Kenya and I hate how one journalist conducted an interview. There are some rumours on the internet about a well-known gospel artist. The rumours claim that she has done an abortion after carrying a child in her for 7 months. Before going, oooooooooo, you better sit down and pause. Why did she do it, I mean why do women go about and ‘’flush’’ an innocent being? Well it is the looks, the stares and the gossips we have. We all love Kenya and we would rather do whatever we can to save her rather than see her suffer. Last week, a well-known politician suggested that we should have our education devolved. Now the next question is how would this work? If taxes are still paid to the national government does it mean we stop and start funding our schools? Look at what happened when education became free, it became a disaster. How can you mention devolvment when pupils are still sitting on the floor, walking for miles to get to school, have no laptops and their teachers are always going on strike? Girls are still lacking sanitary towels and boys are still fishing and herding cattle to get fees. Let us not forget the latest is public schools having their playgrounds being grabbed. Today we buried one amazing man. I had never met him in person but I had heard of him. During his funeral today, I saw senior government officials speak but I couldn't help but think about the widow. She is so young and he is gone. This people used her last minutes with him as a poilitical dias therefore I have written a poem trying to capture the true feelings of Lwam Bekele today.
