OH NEREA; ANOTHER ONE FROM SAUTI SOL

Well it is Friday and as Larry Madowo says, you know what it is. Well today he will be hosting one of the best bands in Kenya, Sauti Sol as they launch their new single, Nerea.
Nerea is a song about a man pleading with his girlfriend not to abort his child and the song has raised a lot of concerns.

Why would a girl want to abort?
Well the answer is that obviously the man must have rejected the pregnancy and so she sees the only way out as abortion. Yes it’s true that children can grow up to amaze us but men need to stand up.
Sauti Sol, Amos and Josh have really done a good job but they left the song hanging.
Nerea does not want to abort; she wants someone to assure her that if she carries the pregnancy to term, then the man responsible must be ready to help her through the thick and thin.
The man says bring my child, I will bring up the baby on my own. Truth is most men cannot without involving another woman whom the real mother detests.
Nerea is a good song, catchy and sweet but it also arouses sensitive emotions, maybe Sauti sol and Amos and Josh should have included the part where the man says sorry for stealing your innocence but together we can go through this.

Nakuomba Nerea, (I beseech you Nerea) hakuna haja ya kutoa mimba yangu, (there is no need to abort) mimi nimekupa mtoto, (am the one responsible) nitachukua jukumu langu (I will take responsibility) instead of Mungu ameleta mtoto, (God has brought a child) babies are made after a sexual act so the man should not act like the baby came in by luck.
Anyway here is the video, enjoy Nerea.
