A BREATH OF FRESH AIR IN THE KENYAN GOSPEL SCENE

She is short and chubby but when she opens her mouth you will be surprised. Mercy Opande, a 3rd year student doing Communication and Media at Egerton University is taking the Kenyan airwaves by storm with her new single LOVE.
Mercy’s sound is soft RnB and even though the song is long, you want to listen to it on and on. The song LOVE encourages Christians and Kenyans in general to love one another. Her opening statements are Jesus died for Jews, the kiuks and the Luos.

Is this the only song she has done? No, Mercy is not new in the music scene. Remember the DJ Gylo, the guy who accused a pastor of stealing his wife? Mercy had done a collabo with him. She has also backed several artists including Bishop Joseph WW Kamau of Happy Church Ministries International. So this is Mercy’s first single.
The song has received great reception when it was aired on One FM and Egerton Radio. She is working on her next song entitled Rejoice.

Mercy’s strong vocals can only be compared to Cece Winans and MaryMary. It is true that many people still don’t believe that it’s a Kenyan when they hear the song but Mercy says it’s all glory to God.
Why does she sing? Mercy believes she was born to awaken the love of God and His worship to a generation that longs to fall in Love with Jesus.

The song LOVE is definitely going to stick in our hearts for long. She is produced by Edd Mayaka of Jeiy Records in Nakuru. Here have a listen and leave a comment
